As part of the program, the DENR previewed an audio-visual presentation of the Naujan Lake National Park in Oriental Mindoro which features the women of Naujan and their important role in conserving and protecting the rich biodiversity of the fifth largest lake in the Philippines.

A presentation on the DENR-led World Water Day 2018 Nature Walk at the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in Palawan participated by women from all walks of life also highlighted how women can contribute in water conservation and sustainable management of freshwater resources.

In relation to this, all female employees were given tumblers to promote the utilization of reusable water bottles in the workplace.  All DENR, EMB, and MGB MIMAROPA personnel were also encouraged to participate in the movie screenings as part of the activity.

With the theme, “We Make Change Work for Women,” the 2018 celebration aims to “inform and engage women as stakeholders of government programs and services; create and facilitate platforms to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges, and commitments in pursuing gender and development; and inspire and empower women and girls to be agents of change.”
