Technical personnel from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) MIMAROPA Region participated in the conduct of the Writeshop for MGB Core Group of Trainors for the Small-Scale Mining (SSM) Sector, February 10-11, via Microsoft Teams.

The MGB’s Core Group of Trainors, composed of SSM focal persons from MGB Central Office and Regional Offices, held breakout sessions for template improvement writeshop and development of training materials for Potential Environmental Impact Management Plan, Safety and Health Program, and Community Development and Management Program for SSM, quarrying, and sand and gravel operations.

This two-day activity is pursuant to the Work and Financial Plan of the Global Opportunities for Long-term Development in Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Programme (GEF GOLD): “Contribution Toward the Elimination of Mercury in the Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) Sector: From Miners to Refiners,” planetGOLD, in coordination with the Artisanal Gold Council.
