The Mines and Geosciences Bureau MIMAROPA Region conducted the Deputation Training for Deputy Environment and Natural Resources Officers (DENROs) for mines in the Province of Romblon, August 25, at the Haliwood Hotel in Odiongan, Romblon.

This activity is pursuant to Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Administrative Order No. 2008-22 or the Revised Guidelines on the Deputation of ENRO to directly involve the citizenry in the protection and conservation of the country’s environment and natural resources through the issuance of a deputation order by the DENR.

The orientation and training for DENRO for mines include a discussion on the salient features of Republic Act No. 7942 or the Philippine Mining Act; the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 7076 or the People’s Small-Scale Mining Act of 1991; the permits in the extraction, removal, disposition, utilization, and transport of sand and gravel and quarry materials; new mining policies; and enforcement of environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
