MGB MIMAROPA technical personnel with the participating permit holders in the province of Palawan.
In an ongoing effort to capacitate permit holders of mining permits issued by local government units (LGUs), the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) MIMAROPA Region conducted a capacity building for small-scale miners/sand and gravel (SAG)/quarry permit holders in the province of Palawan, June 16, 2021, via the Zoom application.
The said activity also provided the participating permit holders and technical secretariat of the Provincial Mining Regulatory Board of Palawan with technical knowledge on the proper conduct of mining, quarrying, and SAG operations.
During this undertaking, technical personnel from the MGB MIMAROPA Region presented discussions on the basic mining laws, rules, and regulations; and different mining permits and other related permits issued to a qualified person by the State through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and those devolved to the local government.
Furthermore, participants were oriented about the proper extraction of sand and gravel materials in rivers, and boundary survey of permit areas including slope stabilization.
