MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano officiates the MGB MIMAROPA Regional Director Turnover Ceremony for incoming Regional Director Glenn Marcelo C. Noble and outgoing OIC-Regional Director Edwin M. Mojares.
The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) MIMAROPA Region held its formal leadership turnover ceremony for incoming Regional Director Engr. Glenn Marcelo C. Noble and outgoing OIC-Regional Director Dr. Edwin M. Mojares, June 1, at the MGB MIMAROPA Conference Room.
This is pursuant to Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Special Order No. 2022-352 dated May 16, 2022 assigning Engr. Noble as Regional Director of the MGB MIMAROPA Region.
During the said turnover ceremony officiated by MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano, the Bureau Chief reiterated the need for the mining sector to contribute more for the economy through identifying priority projects that can proceed with development and extraction.
Director Moncano also challenged the incoming Regional Director to strengthen collaboration with industry stakeholders amid the ongoing issues concerning the reclamation and quarrying activities in Coron, Palawan, and the Marcopper Mining Corporation in Marinduque.
In support of the DENR priority programs, the Director also called everyone’s cooperation in strengthening the Bureau’s data management, and expediting the processing of new mining applications in full compliance with Anti-Red Tape Act regulations, among others.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mojares expressed his gratitude to all the staff and personnel of the MGB MIMAROPA Region during his four-month stint as OIC-Regional Director. The outgoing chief concurrently serves as Chief of the Geosciences Division of the Regional Office.
For his message, RD Noble laid out some of the policies in the DENR which may be implemented in the regional office, such as in the improvement of the Strategic Performance Management System.
For the past 39 years, RD Noble has handled various key positions in the MGB Central Office before being designated as the Regional Director of the MGB MIMAROPA Region in 2021. In January 2022, he was assigned as the OIC Director of the DENR Policy and Planning Service.
